Taking pictures using a digital single lens reflective camera (DSLR camera) becomes more and more popular - rather than using film cameras. Their resolution gains with each generation and it seems the digital camera kicks any "old fashioned" film camera off the road. In Terms of actual CCD's resolution there is no need to argue since actual DSLR cameras come along with comparable or better features than film cameras have. But the low dynamic range of the DSLRs remains as one of some few drawbacks. You can move around this disadvantage by using the DRI ("Digital Range Increase") technology that combines multiple pictures with different exposure values ("bracketing") to only one picture boosting the dynamic range up. The DSLR's noise characteristics at highest ISO levels are on its way getting significantly better than those of film negatives. Think about it: compare both technologies and make your own mind about digital vs. film SLRs.
The main idea ("theme") of any picture is always something that comes of a photographer's mind. Next to the good and right equipment that fits all your needs and requirements, a good basic knowledge and skills helps you making your own ideas come true.
All pictures are taken at the highest resolution possible (3008 by 2000 pixels) using Konica Minolta's RAW format (MRW). To "develop" all these RAW files I prefer the RAW Shooter Essentials 2005/2006 digital image converter giving you the full color range of 16bit TIFF image files.
A great choice of various pictures is already available and more pictures are coming up back to back. All of them have been taken by myself and nothing else but Konica Minolta's Dynax/Maxxum 7D. If you are in love with one or more pictures, have questions or just wanna pass some criticism/suggestions on me: please never hesitate and feel free to contact me!
